Cathy was born in London, Ontario, Canada. An artist from childhood, she went on to study commercial art, illustration and design. She works in a representational style in traditional oils. She will paint commissions from photo references.

Cathy exhibits regularly in Galleries, juried shows and various other venues, primarily in Ontario Canada. She has had work in Galleries in France, The USA and Denmark. She curated an Exhibition of seven artists' work, including her own, that went to The Netherlands in 2009 to represent Canada. 

She is a winner of several public choice awards and has been commissioned to do numerous paintings, one of which went to Taiwan as a gift from the County of Oxford. Her work has gone to many other countries including the United States, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Australia and Japan.

She lectures and teaches and judges photography and art competitions.

Her work is in numerous corporate and private collections, including Goderich Aircraft Inc., The Oxford County Administration Building, Woodstock Hospital, Paint Ontario founders collection, Pacific and Western Bank of Canada,  Woodingford lodge (three locations), American Banjo Museum, Steam Whistle Brewing and  Miller Thompson LLP - Guelph.
She is a member of the Ontario Society of Artists, The Woodstock Art Gallery and their Art Gallery Advisory Board, The Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre- where she is past president, Norfolk Artsco and numerous other organizations.

An avid gardener, her work often includes some aspect of nature , and her love of colour and texture is very apparent in her work.
